Alzheimer’s Disease in Black Americans

In this Medscape TV Series, specialists from Indiana University discuss the progressive phases of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), at what point it is most appropriate to introduce the narrow range of available medications, and which patients will benefit most from approved therapies. They also discuss their efforts to gain understanding of AD in Black patients because most AD research has been conducted in White populations. Examining a more diverse range of biomarkers, genetics, and socioeconomic factors may lead to both a better understanding of AD and more equitable therapeutic outcomes.
