Appropriate use of medications to reduce pain and discomfort is an important component of pediatric palliative care. Growing interest in expanding the availability of palliative care and hospice services for children has led to a significant increase in the literature in this area. A review published in Pediatric Pharmacotherapy describes the current state of medication use in this patient population and explores new alternatives.
