The COVID-19 pandemic has placed unprecedented strains on our healthcare system. At the same time, disease outbreaks and visitor restrictions at skilled nursing facilities create barriers to placement. Home-based medical care is a powerful modality to address these challenges as discussed in this article published last month in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.
