Improving Palliative Care for Patients with Metastatic Breast Cancer

Palliative care has been shown to improve quality of life and reduce symptom burden and healthcare costs for patients with cancer, yet it is underused in patients with metastatic breast cancer.  In this article published in Medscape Oncology, palliative care professionals share the benefits of palliative care and provide guidance to professionals and health systems to overcome the barriers to underutilization in this patient population.
