Who Knew? Hospice Is a Business. What That Means for All of Us

Many people, including hospice clinicians, may not fully understand all aspects of hospice care until having a personal experience with a loved one.  In an article published last month in Gerontologist, the author, a Ph.D. nurse, discusses her personal journey when her brother entered hospice. She highlights the implications of hospice as a business and orients through her own experience and data, provides methods for evaluating hospice programs nationally, and recommends improvements in the business of hospice care.
