Pediatric palliative care (PPC) aims to “deliver competent, compassionate and consistent care” to children facing life-limiting illnesses. This article reviews the current state of PPC delivery and its outcomes and moves on to provide guidance on best practices going forward. Discussion includes components of a PPC program, referrals, barriers, ethics, outcomes, and defining success.
