The Need for Palliative Care in Pharmacy Education

Palliative care pharmacists are in growing demand on interdisciplinary teams in the U.S. today. Despite this need however not every pharmacy school has curriculum dedicated to the skills students need to manage a palliative care patient upon graduation. This article published in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education reviews the current state of pharmacy palliative care education, areas where pharmacists are currently practicing palliative care and the literature that supports the successful integration of this education into pharmacy school curriculum.
