In a position statement issued by the American Nurses Association (ANA), guidance is provided on ethical decision-making in response to a patient’s request for medical aid in dying which is legal in a growing number of U.S. states. This statement does not frame a stance for or against medical aid in dying but rather frames a nurse’s response within their scope of practice and code of ethics.
