COLUMBUS, Ohio, Apr 09, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE via COMTEX) —
Today, CoverMyMeds, the industry leader in automating prior authorizations (PAs), announced a partnership with Enclara Health (Enclara) to enable automation of PAs in its hospice pharmacies. This integration will reduce administrative burden, and improve turnaround time for determinations from health insurance companies, helping patients get their medications as fast as possible.
“Today more than 80 percent of pharmacies in the U.S. use CoverMyMeds to fill more prescriptions, enhance productivity, and help improve patient adherence,” said CoverMyMeds co-founder Matt Scantland. “We’re pleased to assist the hospice community, especially those struggling with terminal illnesses, to more quickly access their prescribed treatments.”
When a pharmacist receives a rejection notice in their claims system that a prior authorization is required for an Enclara patient, the hospice client has the ability to use CoverMyMeds to choose and populate the correct PA request before sending it to the prescriber to complete, or insurance plan for determination. Most pharmacists access CoverMyMeds through their pharmacy system, but some also use the web portal available at Integrated ePA functionality for EHRs.
“We are excited about our partnership with CoverMyMeds,” said Andy Horowitz, CEO of Enclara Health. “We are thrilled to be able to provide our hospice partners with a portal to electronically submit a prior authorization as part of Enclara’s suite of solutions for Medicare Part D compliance.”
CoverMyMeds is the leader in prior authorization (PA), and the first step in patient adherence. Prescribers and pharmacies have submitted over 9 million prior authorization requests, and other coverage determinations through our automated system, and we were recently named the 8th fastest growing healthcare company in the country by Inc. 500|5000.
